A different kind of animation

Hand animation is tough.  Every second of movement requires 12 images.  The unfinished Loving Vincent takes that a <sarcasm>small</sarcasm> step further.

Each panel of the animated feature will be an oil painting – just as Van Gogh would have painted it.  The 79 minute feature will require approx. 56,800 paintings created by a team of 100 artists.
