The Ghost Army That Helped Defeat Hitler

(via Great Big Story) During WWII a secret division known now as the “ghost army” conducted over 20 tactical operations and saved tens of thousands of lives. These were no normal soldiers, it was an army of 1,000 men made up mostly of artists, engineers, actors and advertisers. Their mission was to misdirect the enemy using inflatable tanks and large speakers projecting military sounds. Great Big Story shows how they did it.
