The Dying Art of Skywriting

(via mental_floss)  In an age of sophisticated digital and television advertising, social media and email, skywriting is an antiquated form of messaging. And yet, on clear days over big cities, at festivals and air shows around the country, you can still spot a lone plane scrawling letters across the blue expanse. Skywriting still exerts a nostalgic pull on the national imagination. It’s artistry at 10,000 feet; a fleeting imprint upon the heavens.
