4 Ancient Roman Amphitheaters Still in Use Today

(via Amusing Planet)  Two thousand years ago, when the Roman emperors ruled over a significant part of the world, they built stadium-like entertainment complexes called amphitheaters. These were large, circular or oval open-air venues with raised seating and staged events – anything to keep the populace happy.  About 230 have been found across the width and breadth of the Roman Empire. Many of these are still standing in different states of preservation, and quite a few of them still hold regular events like music concerts today.
