RETRO ROME – Blizzard of 1993 – March 13, 1993. 24 years ago, almost to the day, Rome residents dig themselves out of the 18 inches of snow dumped on them over a weekend.
RETRO ROME – Between games, work continues at Rome Free Academy’s newly renovated stadium. In this aerial view from over Turin Street, crews can be seen spreading some 300 tons of sand into the artificial turf. The white streaks on the field show the progress. The sand settles with each use of the field.
RETRO ROME – Rome Junior High School, 1950s. School was located at the corner of West Court and North James Streets. The Daniel C. Wilson Justice Building currently sits on this site.

RETRO ROME – Installation of artificial turf at RFA Stadium continues – June 30, 1993. The 1993 graduation ceremony was relocated to Utica Auditorium to allow enough time to complete the project by fall.
