Blizzard of 1966 – Feb. 3, 1966

RETRO ROME – From the Daily Sentinel pages – February 3, 1966.  City of Rome and Oneida county plowing crews worked without sleep to open essential arteries of transportation.  The “white out” smothered the northeast.  The blizzard and extreme cold contributed to at least 75 deaths from highway accidents, fires and heart attacks in 16 states.
