N. Washington St., Blizzard of 1966 – January 30, 1966
RETRO ROME – January 30, 1966. Snow drifts up to 10 feet high blocked city streets. Hundreds of vehicles, like this one pictured in the 100 block of N. Washington St., were abandoned as a crippling snow storm of blizzard proportions buried Rome for three days.

RETRO ROME – Direct from the Daily Sentinel pages. The blizzard of Jan. 27 – Feb. 2, 1966 closed Rome schools for a week, thousands were stranded along the NYS Thruway… some 50 inches of snow fell on Rome during a five day period.
