Erie Canal Historic Marker Arrives – April 14, 1967
RETRO ROME – The Erie Canal Sesquicentennial marker, erected in July 1967 at the site of the start of canal construction, is inspected by Fred Tayntor, Rome superintendent of streets and sanitation – April 14, 1967. This marker has been refurbished and reinstalled near the terminal building at Bellamy Harbor Park.
